Become an Adult Learner

Would you like to improve your reading, writing, or math skills? Do you need your GED/HiSET? Would you like to learn to speak, read, or write in English?

If so, please fill out the form below or call us at 570-297-3375.

What Happens Next?

After you contact us, the Program Director will set up a time to meet with you to complete some paperwork and an assessment. Once you have completed the paperwork and assessment, you will be paired with a volunteer tutor who will meet with you when and where it is best for you! Most of our tutors/adult learners meet at their local library at least once a week for an hour or two. You will continue to work with your tutor until you meet your goals, however long that may take. All of our services are FREE and no one will know that you are receiving tutoring lessons.

Become a Volunteer Tutor

Do you have a couple of free hours per week? Would you like to make a difference in the life of someone else? Do you know how to read and do basic math? BWCL asks all volunteers to make a 12-month commitment.

If so, you would make a great volunteer tutor! Fill out the form below or call us at 570-297-3375 to become a volunteer tutor!

What Happens Next?

The Program Director will contact you and answer any questions you may have about becoming a volunteer tutor. If you decide it is right for you (which you will!), you will be required to attend a tutor training. The training is approximately 16 hours. We are currently in the process of creating an online training for those who can’t attend in person. All of the materials for training and teaching are provided FREE of charge!
